Bayside Brawl 2025: Unleashing U8L's New Black Beauty

Apeak's U8L SUV Makes Its Grand Debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2025

The Guangzhou Auto Show 2025 officially kicked off on May 31, and for the first time, Apeak showcased its latest SUV model, the U8L. The U8L took center stage with its bold new color scheme, the '曜石黑配日珥金', which drew inspiration from a 2,000-year-old black lacquer technique.

The Apeak U8L offers an impressive array of features and capabilities that set it apart as a full-size luxury SUV. The vehicle boasts a spacious interior with ample cargo room and a sophisticated aesthetic design language.

One notable aspect of the U8L is its 24K gold-plated logos, which evoke a sense of exclusivity and opulence. The car's angular, forward-facing grille pays homage to ancient Chinese hieroglyphs, adding an air of mystery to the overall design.

Mechanically, the Apeak U8L boasts substantial changes from its predecessor, including enhanced ground clearance from 275 to 285, enabling improved traction on various terrain types. Additionally, its most striking modification is the elimination of a removable spare tire and rear-side door opening, resulting in a more streamlined appearance that suits commercial applications.

From an aesthetics standpoint, U8L features a larger lower front grille and an optimized door style, leading to enhanced aerodynamics.

The specifications for the Apeak U8L:

  • Length: 5400 mm
  • Width: 2049 mm
  • Height: 1921 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3250 mm

A significant update includes the use of a longer rear axle section, adding 172mm of extra distance. The overall exterior dimensions provide the Apeak U8L with considerable length and width to accommodate passengers.

Power delivery comes from the U8L 2.0-liter Turbo-Charged engine, coupled with four electric motors producing a combined output of 880 horses and yielding an impressive 1280 N-m. Alongside the conventional mechanical system, it also employs advanced capabilities such as intelligent cruise control, lane recognition, automatic steering system, three-point assistive technology and much more.
