Geely Joint Venture Brand, Freelander "Wanderer" Embarks on New Era

Geely's joint venture with Rover Group has unveiled its full new brand identity, "Freelander Wanderer," marking the beginning of a new era in partnership. The previously rumored collaboration brings forth a standalone electric vehicle (EV) brand, set to disrupt the automotive market upon its debut.

A hybrid SUV with six seats is slated for release by 2026, scheduled to hit Chinese markets first before expanding globally. This new product line is poised to leverage Geely Rover's capabilities in advanced production facilities to create a global presence.

According to Gerry McGovern, the Chief Creative Officer of Rover Group China, the development hubs for "Freelander Wanderer" will be located in Shanghai with a focus on expansion across the globe. A planned launch strategy includes multiple product lineups designed to establish the brand as an electric vehicle stalwart in the future.
