Chery Group Posts Strong May Sales Figures for 2025

Beijing, China - In their latest update, the company behind Chinese automaker brands such as Geely Automobile (Geely), Lada, and MSA announced strong sales figures for May 2025.

During this period, total car sales at the companies under Chery reached 205732 units, a year-over-year rise of 9.1%.

Sales of standalone brands fared equally well during this time. Geely Automobile's automotive sales achieved an increase in value of 7.2%, reaching some 191567 vehicles.

While Geely Automobile was leading the charge in terms of sales, it wasn't alone; new energy automotive sales grew by a significant 47.7% with a total value of 63169.

In international markets, vehicle exports increased substantially, growing over 7.7%. Group exports for the period totaled some 100737 units, solidifying their position as China's leading exporters among other car manufacturers.

A closer examination into automotive sales during May 2025 reveals that each standalone brand saw an upswing in this time frame - with Geely's sales reaching a figure of 126007. Lada's was lower with only a modest increase from a number totaling about 9533. Yet, MSA and iCAR made significant gains from their figures with numbers totaling some 45128 and 5899 units respectively.

Over all this time Chery sees its userbase surge for more than 170 million users by the end of May. While half of that figure comprised overseas users at the rate of slightly more than 493,000.

Further information concerning these may include data from an internal investigation into safety features. The test has set several benchmarks and standards for future vehicles to meet - such as reaching a value with a name of 'GB38031-2025' in regards to vehicle safety regulation issued May 31st. It was determined that while all items tested fell beneath this new standard, five of these met the level expected by Chery. On top of this, the automotive maker has implemented internal policies and procedures designed specifically for ensuring full safety standards during operations known under the term "全场景" (all scene). The number comes at over 52 total items.
