Huawei's Future Growth Plans Unveiled: Exciting Updates for the Q5 2024 Model Range

In a recent social media post, Huawei's Chief Operating Officer (COO) andTerminal BG Board of Directors Chairman,余承东, revealed that pre-orders for the new Q5 model have surpassed 140,000 units, breaking the record for the most pre-ordered vehicle in a single month. This achievement is particularly notable given the Q5's reputation as a luxury SUV.

Mr.余承东 has also hinted at the upcoming release of Huawei's latest models on April 16th. These include new versions of the popular Q5 and S9 segments, while introducing an all-new model dubbed "尚界" (Huawei's fifth-branded vehicle). According to sources, 尚界 (the new luxury electric vehicle) is being co-developed with SAIC-HWAEE Automotive. This high-end model is set to be unveiled at this year's Guangzhou Motor Show and might feature an enhancement of the existing Huawei Pulsion Electric Driving technology.

The new Huawei Q5 8 has become one of the most attractive pre-order deals in Q5 history, as customers can pre-buy their vehicles starting from 36.8 million CNY (approximately $4.7 million USD), significantly beating previous expectations. For its standard transmission model, Huawei has chosen a mid-size SUV with a shorter wheelbase by 40mm compared to the top-tier Q9.

Key highlights for this latest iteration include advanced intelligent driving modules, cutting-edge motors and more efficient energy cells designed within Huawei's proprietary platform called ‘途灵’. With regards to electric battery variants Huawei is expected to offer customers CLTC-rated pure-electric drive options ranging between 201km (the standard range of its most limited variant) or a substantial extension up to 310 km. It is also predicted that the Q5 Series may possibly incorporate a new rear electric motor system, with some even suggesting potential for an extended-range powertrain version running a full-electrified configuration alongside its conventional non-hybrid drive setup.

In addition, Mr.余承东 has hinted at another major product release this year: the enhanced S9 Segment, designed by SAIC-HWAEE and coming out in 4 months. Enjoyed for its clean modern style, this luxury SUV will offer drivers a blend of high-speed performance, ample interior space, and an advanced electronic driver assistance package.

Finally, the company has decided to release a new Q7 variation with exclusive pastel-green colors that will be available exclusively on this particular model type, in conjunction with a unique combination of 20-inch sports wheels.
