China's FAW-Volkswagen Posts Strong Sales in April, with Audi Brand Leads Way
FAW-Volkswagen Group announced its sales data for the month of April, showing a significant increase in overall vehicle sales. The company sold 113,406 vehicles in April, a growth of 0.4% compared to the same period last year. Within this total, FAW-Volkswagen's passenger vehicle sales reached 68,001 units, a 7.9% increase from the previous year.
Audi Takes Lead in SUV Market with China Sales
The Audi brand was the top seller among domestic luxury fuel vehicles, with 3,690 units sold (including imports). This marked its second consecutive quarter at the top of the domestic luxury SUV market. FAW-Volkswagen's passenger car sales also saw a slight increase in the fuel department.
FAW-Volkswagen's ID.AURA concept car was recently unveiled, marking the company's first electric vehicle built on Volkswagen's new compact platform (CMP). The vehicle is positioned as a pure-electric compact sedan, targeting young families. It features Volkswagen CE architecture to deliver an enhanced digital cockpit experience and faster response times.
Design-wise, the new car boasts a sleek exterior with closed mesh grilles, LED lights, and a bold design language reminiscent of Porsche Taycan models. The front air dam is complemented by three LED lightbands for improved aerodynamics. The rear features angular LED lighting, blending into an overall futuristic look. Electric power will propel the vehicle.
The ID.AURA represents a significant step forward in Volkswagen's electrification strategy, showcasing innovative technologies like digital cockpits and advanced responsive systems.
