Audi E5 Sportback Unveiled: A New Era for Audi's High-End Lineup
The latest edition of the Chinese Motor Vehicle Catalog has revealed new information on the Audi E5 Sportback, a highly anticipated vehicle that marks Audi's entry into the luxury electric car market.
In its first public appearance at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year, the Audi E5 Sportback was showcased as part of a joint venture between FAW Group and Audi. The vehicle is designed to offer a premium smart experience with an emphasis on high-tech design cues reminiscent of its concept car predecessor.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Audi E5 Sportback takes inspiration from the "starstream" fluid dynamics philosophy, striving for radical reduction in the overall form factor while maintaining technological presence. The vehicle features exaggerated ring-shaped LED lights, coupled with an Audi English logo, enhancing brand recognition and identity.
The vehicle also comes equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as electronic exterior rearview mirrors, integrated door handles, and unframed side doors—features synonymous with future design aspirations. The large rear butterfly doors contribute to the vehicle's tech-forward appearance. Measuring 4881 x 1960 x 1479 mm in length, width, height, and wheelbase at 2,950 mm respectively, this high-tech body aims not only for practicality but also striking visual appeal.
Interior Configurations
The Audi E5 Sportback’s interior boasts of various configurations including front and rear bumpers, an integrated ETC charging unit, back tail lamps, side trims, smart glass, wheels, and keyless entry with push-button start functions. This vehicle is designed to provide a premium driving experience tailored to every consumer.
Engine Performance
Audi claims the latest variant comes equipped with front and rear double motors that produce 155kW and 231kW respectively as maximum power output. Further advanced features include an integrated three-metallium lithium-ion battery pack which results in an astonishing range exceeding 700 kilometers, a high top speed of 205km/h along with an acceleration time to ninety kilometers per hour within 3.6 seconds.
