M817: The Bold and Rugged SUV to Watch Out For at the 2025 Guangzhou-Hong Kong Auto Expo
The interior of the Longrich M817 made its maiden appearance at the 2025 Guangzhou-Hong Kong Auto Expo, a significant release that promises an exciting ride. With its hard-hitting off-road credentials, the M817 is a concept car born from a collaboration between Longrich and Huawei.
Key Features
The M817's design language showcases the bold aesthetic of the "Xiong Mu" style, complete with triangle-shaped LED lights at the front and the company's logo that glows in the dark. The front end also features a large, angular insurance trim to aid off-road prowess.
Looking at the side profile, the M817 boasts an elevated driving stance, along with a roof rack and ladder-mounted storage that makes it easy to access items on the top. On the opposite side lies a flat cargo compartment for extra storage space.
The new car comes equipped with either road-worthy tires or all-terrain tires (AT) with more pronounced tread patterns, increasing traction on non-treaded roads at the cost of increased wear and tear. The result is improved grip without adding excessive weight.
In terms of rear styling, the M817 stands out with a futuristic triple-point taillamp design that exudes boldness yet seems to belong to another era altogether. Alongside an unassuming but sturdy luggage compartment that will either have limited accommodation for spares or no room at all to carry additional equipment depending on how one interprets its dimensions.
Performance
In terms of performance, the new M817 was expected to be powered by a 3-cylinder electric hybrid system, possibly even featuring quad-coaxial motors. Its precise specifications remain under wraps as our investigation continues.
