Geely Reports Strongest Sales to Date in May
Geely Automobile, the parent company of Chinese flagship brands such as GEELY, BAOJUN, LEKES, and LYFEN, has reported a staggering 235,208 units sold in May, marking a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 46% compared to the same period last year. This significant spike brings the cumulative sales for the first five months of this year to 1,173,144 vehicles.
In terms of new energy vehicles (NEVs), Geely reports a notable 138,021 units sold in May, representing an YoY growth rate of 10% and 135% compared to the same period last year. NEV sales now account for nearly 59% of total Geely Automobile vehicle sales during this period, with a cumulative total of 602,784 vehicles sold from January to May.
Looking specifically at brand sales:
- Geely Brand Sales: 188,670 units sold in May, accounting for a significant YoY growth rate of 0%, and a cumulative total of 513,093 units sold over the first five months.
- Geely Hongguang Sales: 87,625 units sold, contributing 17% to Geely's total sales during this period. This figures is in line with its previous year's value of 61,300 vehicles that had been exported, which accounts for a part of overall sales of Chinese brand Baojun as well.
- Geely Yinhe Sales: 101,845 units sold, showcasing a staggering YoY growth rate of 273%.
- Lekes Sales: 27,630 units sold in May, demonstrating a comparable increase year on year at 27%. Furthermore, sales of LEKES Vehicles Family represent 63% for all the vehicles that were sold during this period
- Geely Extreme Sales: 18,908 units sold, exhibiting a YoY growth rate of 38%.
In addition to these regional sales figures, Geely Automobile's overseas export sales in May reached 30,017 units, representing yet another YoY growth rate.
