Meet Japan's Most Coveted EV: 2023 Toyota C-HR Spotted in Fresh New Trim

New Toyota C-HR Brings Evolution and Innovation

Toyota recently unveiled the latest edition of its compact SUV, the all-new C-HR, boasting modern family design language with an electric variant. Priced around $3,000 in overseas markets (around RMB 21.65 million), this new model is expected to be a hit.

In terms of aesthetics, the C-HR carries over Toyota's latest family design elements. The dynamic LED headlamps on both sides pair well with the sleek T-shaped airflow opening below and an array of large-diameter headlights, creating a visually distinct front end that grabs attention. Additionally, its elevated engine bay adds to the muscular appearance.

The side profile of the car sports forged alloy wheels (standard on SE model and larger 20-inch wheels available on XSE) and traditional manual door handles for some contrast. Rearwardly, it has a running board system integrated with sporty taillights and a functional black skid plate at the base of the rear.

Inside, Toyota continues its design language trend but with a new measure of refinement that incorporates several modern elements, including an 14-inch high-resolution instrument cluster and ample use of advanced audio and infotainment systems. Furthermore, it is notable that this car will come equipped with an up-to-date version of Toyota Safety Sense 3:0—a suite of safety features that enable full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and emergency stop functionality among their range.

The C-HR is built around the Toyota e-TNGA platform. Measured at 4453mm long by 1596mm high it provides increased room than existing models. When it comes to drive; powered by twin electric motors with an overall horsepower output of 343 PS. Battery capacity has also been enhanced to hold 74.7kWh battery for a notable driving range of around 467 kilometers on the highway.

When Toyota was eager to release the car, its company disclosed that this model needs only 30 minutes from 10% charging power up to 80%, and more astonishing its speed reaches 0 to 98km/h within five seconds.
