Volvo Unveils EX60, Its New Electric Midsize SUV
On June 25, Volvo officially released an official teaser for its new midsize electric SUV, the EX60. The car will be built on a completely new all-electric platform called SPA3 EV.
The EX60 is expected to launch in early 2026 and will join the XC60 lineup as its electrified counterpart. Once launched, it will be sold alongside the current XC60, catering to different user needs.
A look at the newly released teaser reveals that the car continues to adopt Volvo's iconic vertical rear lamp design, with upper and lower segments for better visual recognition. The car was also equipped with a black surround in the back, adding subtle details such as a chrome trim strip running through it and an elevated tailgate line. This new combination creates distinct layers.
According to Volvo, the SPA3 platform, which is used by the EX60, shares the same software system and electric architecture as the previous SPA2 platform, with the "Superset technology stack". As described, this allows for more versatility and compatibility across a range of sizes, theoretically enabling the production of cars with sizes between the EX30 and EX90 models.
