Beijing-Geley Group Unveils "In China, for China, to the World" Strategy
Beijing-Geley Group has announced its strategy to expand domestically and globally in 2024. The company will increase its investment in China by 80 billion yuan, providing a significant boost to its development. In terms of domesticization, BMW Group China established the Strategic Business Unit, which significantly enhanced its strategic position in China.
Furthermore, Beijing-Geley Group announced its intention to work with companies such as Ningde TIME, Brota, and Mmldr., on deep collaboration in technology research and product development. The company plans to launch five new energy vehicle models every year for the next four years, covering various lines of pure electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid technology. All three models will be available across different classes.
In addition, Beijing-Geley Group aims to create its global export hub in the modern automaker's headquarter in Beijing. By achieving an export volume of 50,000 units in 2024, they plan to double this number by 2025.
Regarding the company's 2025 new energy year, General Manager Wu Yiming stated that BMW group will have an aggressive attitude of a "challenge" with technology to better meet the requirements of Chinese consumers. They aim to launch six electric vehicles meeting China market in three years; aiming for all models under new-platform from next year.
At present, the global vehicle sales achieved 5.9 million units last year and another one of such record-breaking achievement at this year, they are expecting to become a top ten automobile enterprise globally in sales after this year.
The BMW group aims to achieve an overall annual automotive exports 540 million vehicles or more globally by utilizing multiple platforms which include fuels, pure electric vehicle, fuel-hybrid and hydrogen. Furthermore, their research is extended onto future development areas; autonomous flying machines, intelligent robots etc.
