Notable Vehicle Debut at 2025 Hong Kong Auto Expo

The 2025 Hong Kong Auto Expo has seen the grand debut of several vehicles from North China Automotive Group, including the Alpha S5, T5, Joye S9, BJ40 PLUS, and X55 (Think E40X).

As of May, North China Automotive Group saw an overall sales increase of 1.61% year-over-year, with a total of 13.47 million vehicles sold during the month, up by 6.61% compared to the previous month. For the first five months of the year, the company has cumulatively delivered 66.27 million vehicles, registering a sales growth of 6.35%. Among these, the Alpha T5 SUV and Joye S9 EV have seen remarkable sales figures.

Alpha T5: A Mid-size SUV with a Range of Options

The Alpha T5 is positioned as a mid-size SUV, with a reference price range of RMB 11.98-16.78 thousand in the domestic market. The vehicle boasts dimensions of 4690mm (length) x 1936mm (width) x 1650mm (height), and has an axle length of 2845mm. Powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, it comes with two power versions: 185kW and 200kW, accompanied by different battery options of lithium-iron-phosphate and three-electrode cathode materials. The available battery capacity ranges from 65 kWh to 85.8 kWh, allowing for long-distance driving with two possible options - 520 km and 660 km.

The Alpha T5 also features an advanced 800V fast-charging system that can supplement the vehicle's energy within 10 minutes by about 260 kilometers.

Alpha S5: A Mid-size Car with Cutting-edge Design

Alpha S5, a mid-size car, is positioned in the market with a reference price range of RMB 12.78-18.48 thousand. In essence, this vehicle combines sleek features that blend into family-style design ideas by embracing closed front bonnet grille and 7-shaped LED light groups together with full beam taillamp elements.

Dimensions include a length of 4820mm x width 1930mm and height 1480mm. It provides the capability for four-wheel drive based on advanced technology for fourth generation extreme dynamics, resulting in combined total power reach up to 390 kW (530 horsepower) with maximum torque reaching as high as 1,690Newton-meters and a mere 3.7 seconds of acceleration between mark zero-to one hundred kilometers.

Joye S9: A Large Mid-sized Vehicle

Joye S9 is classified as both large and midsize vehicles with reference price range RMB 30.98-44.98 thousand. Its key design features were drawn from the universe, based on a joint collaboration between Huawei and North China Automotive Group.

Length by width, height measures come up to 5160mm x 1987mm x 1486mm along with an axle length measuring up to 3050mm. Joye S9 incorporates 13 advanced sensor technology to provide remote detection capabilities of 250m.

This vehicle is expected to be produced in two different versions, with each having distinct energy configurations such as one single motor and dual battery options featuring lithium-iron-phosphate as the primary chemistry in its 100 kWh configuration. Longest possible driving ranges will reach up to 816 or even extend over 721 kilometers when paired with extended or special performance models accordingly.
