Geely's LS6 Model Makes International Debut with Impressive Upgrades
Geely has officially announced the launch of its new LS6 model, marking a significant upgrade in design and technology. The vehicle is set to start at a price of $1,949 for the base model and go up to $5,729.
Upon releasing the official statement, it was revealed that Geely's LS6 model, which will be available for purchase starting September 2024, boasts several key upgrades over its predecessor.
Notably highlighted is the new "Spirit" digital platform in rear-wheel configuration, said to support over-the-air (OTA) updates. This cutting-edge technology provides an enhanced user experience and extends the vehicle's lifespan. It consists of a combination of air suspension, electric shock-absorber system, and high-performance braking system.
Upon adopting a unique four-wheeled turning mechanism combined with dynamic suspension, Geely’s LS6 can now implement "Crab Mode" which enhances maneuverability while drastically reducing turn radius.
The exterior design is characterized by an enclosed front grille, accompanied by a prominent under-hood vent that conveys sportiness and performance. In addition, it comes equipped with the Qihan smart lighting system - comprising of road illumination, flashlight through intersections, parking scenes assistant lighting, forward motion illumination with adaptive intensity, automatic switch between different levels of brightness, and turn-by-turn guidance.
When entering the interior, Geely maintains its conventional middle console design strategy. The entire interface is dominated by screens and adopts a futuristic atmosphere to immerse passengers in advanced technology experience. Various features include:
- A pair of 26.3" digital driver dash for full-screen visual displays
- 15.5'' independent entertainment display screen on the passenger seat
- Central control dashboard with enhanced user interface using an integrated touch panel, and a secondary monitor screen measuring 10.5 inches
- Rear cabin IM Max - powered by a rear-mounted display screen
Onboard hardware consists of Samsung (High通在此阶段不支持Geely使用高通骁龙8295,而改以Samsu和HSC), Samsung or HSC A53A chipsets for better performance.
The powertrain has been designed to integrate not just standard drive and four-wheel versions but also advanced electric models with the option to choose between rear-mounted engine maximum output values ranging from 48 Kw, 56kW, or a max of 36 kW. For comparison purposes, Geely’s equivalent rear driven model offers two different electric motor options.
In terms of battery capacity, it presents an array of three main power banks measured 75kw to 100kh – enabling Geely's LS6 a maximum range (CLTC) at various charge levels:
- The base-tier version
- A middle-grade variant offering more miles based on configuration.
- High-end configuration with even larger battery capacity
A new faster level platform - equipped to deliver rapid charging speeds is integrated in the final generation of this LS6.
