Volkswagen ID.EVO Mass Production Model Released
The highly anticipated mass production version of the Volkswagen ID.EVO has officially been released, with pre-production models finally hitting the market despite being adorned in red cloth.
Although we could not see the finished version due to its covering in red cloth, a glimpse through the transparent material revealed the new car's design. The mass production model has largely followed the sleek and futuristic look of the ID.EVO concept car showcased at Shanghai auto expo.
The ID.EVO is a groundbreaking all-time hybrid SUV produced by Volkswagen Anhui, with "EVO" standing for "Evolutionary." This revolutionary vehicle breaks free from traditional VW design patterns, sporting a brand-new style that belies its massive size. Despite its considerable length, the new ID.EVO appears energetic and dynamic.
The mass production version of ID.EVO is built on the MEB platform and CEA chassis, equipped with L2-level driver-assistance features.
Its appearance has diverged significantly from traditional designs in Vw lineup, as per concept design of Shanghai auto expo but more elegant. The front face sports an inclined daytime running lights, paired together with a separate body lighting that creates a rounded form on the car's front section.
The rear sections display bold side lines and a pronounced fender line which adds aggressiveness to its look. Rearview mirrors are replaced by floating overhead design giving a premium touch overall silhouette also has prominent headgazers at both ends adding luxury element, both features also equipped with automatic turn signaling system for improved safety.
Under the hood, the ID.EVO is powered solely by electrical energy through its electric motor propulsion using Unyx power unit. The new car will feature Gen X directional control system coupled with all-new centralized keypad layout on steering wheel. This has been compared to conventional steering wheels in this lineup but offers better user experience and ease of use.
Lastly, we are pleased to see that it boasts impressive performance at low speed as well despite not having engine in classical sense, though top speed is not specified.
