Tesla's Latest EVs Reveal: New Cheetah (Chinese) Models Expected in June

Chinese Electric Vehicle Makers Unveil Latest ES6 and EC6 Models

Beijing, May 6 — A set of images leaked onto the internet on Friday have revealed that Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Geely has unveiled its latest ES6 and EC6 models.

The latest generation of the two popular EVs appears to feature a revamped design element called the "NT2.5 platform", which is different from the current NT2.0 platform used by predecessors. The control screen on the dashboard now matches that of ET9, with a horizontal design that adopts an "overarm" control mechanism.

This redesign aims to enhance the visual appeal of both vehicles. When it comes to headlights, however, slight adjustments were made for better identification at night due to their longer length and wider beam angle (in contrast to shorter and narrower daytime lamps). Both models will come equipped with new 14-inch alloy wheels; an optional upgrade.

However, what really draws the attention is the interior. First and foremost, there's the introduction of a newly-designed dashboard screen that stretches horizontally. The overall effect allows more room underneath the centre console. Users can now enjoy dual wireless charging with their phones placed on both sides to make use of these features conveniently. Besides this major change, users would also get extra storage compartments under certain trims along with an additional USB-A charging point.

It's worth mentioning that both the ES6 and EC6 models share a similar exterior design language but will undergo slight updates at some points due to the upgrade to NT2.5 platform. Additionally, for better recognition during nighttime driving because of their slimmer daytime headlights, there's been careful attention placed on optimizing visibility.
