Geely's Silverado X8 to Debut on May 9th, Priced Between $1,298 and $17,380
The official launch of Geely's Silverado X8 has been confirmed for May 9th. The car had already started pre-sales, with seven variants available at a starting price of 13.98-17.38 yuan.
The new model comes equipped with the Zeus Super Electric Power System and the Thousand League Safe Intelligent Driving Assistance System. This is in response to competitive models like the BYD Han DM-i.
Upon reviewing the car, the Silverado X8's front face embodies a new design trend with its sleek front-end lighting setup generating a fresh youth-oriented atmosphere. The dimensions of the vehicle are 5018 x 1918 x 1480mm, with a wheelbase of 2928mm, an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.25, and classified as a large SUV.
The front part is equipped with laser radar for navigation purposes, which will be paired with Thousand League Smart Driving Assistance System. What's notable about the intelligent driving system is that it supports four levels (H1, H3, H5, H7) with the top level (H9) offering unique features like "city NOA" and "highway NOA".
Upon entering the vehicle, a dashboard floating screen + instrument display screen + overhead display system are mounted. The car is equipped with the Geely Flyme Auto system featuring Qualcomm 8295 processor across its entire range. Furthermore, it comes with administrative-grade captain seats in the rear, boasting ventilated, heated, and massage functions as well.
In terms of performance, the Silverado X8 has two plug-in hybrid powertrains - EM-P and EM-i. Respectively, they have maximum output rates of 120 kW and 82 kW for their engines, and a combined output of 280 kW and 257 kW respectively. Additionally, it offers CLTC range capabilities of 130 km and 60 km with an overall range exceeding 1500 kilometers.
