Guangzhou Automobile Group Unveils Concept Car CC4 at Milan Design Week
The fourth generation of Guangzhou Automobile Group's (GAC) Car Culture series, a concept car dubbed CC4, made its debut at the ongoing Milan Design Week. The AION UT and AION V also took to the stage.
According to Zhang Fan, Chief Designer of GAC Vehicle Design Department, participation in Milan Design Week marks the third time for Guangzhou Automobile Group, and it signifies a significant endeavor to integrate European living standards into the company's design philosophy. Europe has become an important strategic market for GAC.
CC4 was crafted by the GAC Milan Design Team, drawing inspiration from the pre-war pioneer car body design. The vehicle exudes a futuristic essence, with a low sloping posture and streamlined facades. The distinctive winged door design on the front grille and concealed front-mounted lamps add to its sense of drama.
The entire car has a remarkable length, bearing a striking resemblance to sporty cars in terms of its styling. The body works seamlessly as an enclosed cabin, which is expected to have a significantly low aerodynamic coefficient due to its streamlined profiles throughout.
On the interior, lounge-like seats were incorporated into the design language. These lounge chairs take their inspiration from seating designs typically created for relaxation and leisure activities such as in private luxury properties and cars. The low seating position is combined with floating-type suspension mechanisms and refined mechanical functionalities to provide a more human-centered driving experience through the interpretation of interfaces between persons.
The unveiling has provided an interesting glimpse into GAC's future design strategies, even though it remains to be seen if the CC4 will see mass production in the near future.
