Tesla China Eliminates Separate "Order a New Vehicle" Option for Model S and Model X
As of April 11, according to Tesla's official website in China, the current model options for Model S and Model X have been discontinued. The respective vehicle pages now only display a single "View Available Cars" button, requiring users to click through to view car information.
This means that customers can no longer browse Toyota the website to customize their own order of new Model S and Model X vehicles; instead, they are limited to selecting from existing inventory or pre-owned models available on the site.
Tesla's Model S and Model X are both imported vehicles. In Beijing, the Model S currently offers a new vehicle option for all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations priced at 75.99 million yuan, with an estimated range of 715 kilometers (CLTC driving conditions) and is listed as "Immediate Delivery" on the website.
By contrast, there are no available new vehicles in Beijing for Model X, but pre-owned options are provided.
In Shanghai, the Tesla Model S can be ordered in newer configurations known as Plaid. A price tag of 92.39 million yuan is suggested and range of 672 kilometers in CLTC mode, with the web page stating it as "Immediate Delivery". However, like Beijing's Model X inventory, there are no cars available for immediate purchase.
As of now Tesla does not respond to this situation, we keep an eye on any latest updates.
