Tengshen D9 Becomes Top MPV in China for 6 Months of 2025
In a recent development, Tengshen Brand informed that their flagship medium passenger vehicle (MPV), the Tengshen D9, has taken the top spot in the cumulative sales of new-energy PMVs (Power Maximum Velocity Electric) for six weeks prior to today's date. The Tengshen D9 has also retained its position as the leading MPV seller for the first five months of 2025.
To better understand the features and specifications of this vehicle, our research reveals that the Tengshen D9 currently offers 13 different trim levels, with prices ranging from ¥33,980 to ¥60,060. The available powertrains include both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric varieties.
A closer look at the design language used by the Tengshen D9, known as "π-Motion", indicates a strong identity marker for the brand's family style designs. The shield-like roof rack is adorned with decorative plates, while the headlights are integrated with the front grille to enhance the overall presence of the front face of the car. A matching set of LED taillights runs horizontally along the rear deck, complemented by numerous side panels and silver accents which give the impression of four-walled stability.
The Tengshen D9 incorporates a multi-screen interactive system for interactions, with an intuitive global connection rate of 10 screens, including a central screen, LCD instrument panel, rear-seat screen, HUD (Head-Up Display), dual rear mirrors screen, Dual Shoulder Rest Screen, Mobile Media Rearview Mirror, and Refrigerator screen. AirSPA zero-gravity seats are included in the front row; all sets come equipped with the Heavenly Eye (Hengyi) head-to-head display system, electrical door handles, and an Emperor-like sound system.
Featuring a fifth-generation DM technology platform paired with an 800-volt high-pressure electric powertrain on the PHEV version, coupled with the 1.5-liter engine model BYD472ZQB, it combines to provide the electric vehicle of 115kW rated capacity with maximum speed at 190 km/h. The battery pack contains a 39.938kWh pack and offers a CLTC pure electric operating range of up to 200km while NEDC reaches 1100km; its combined fuel efficiency reaches 5.85L/100km for both versions.
