New Porsche 911 GT2 RS Spotted on the Test Track
A set of leaked images from related channels has revealed the upcoming Porsche 911 GT2 RS (992.2) in a test configuration, showcasing its widened wheelbase and hybrid powertrain.
The new GT2 RS's aerodynamic design extends the concept established by the GT3 RS, featuring dual vents on the front hood, double-layered opening structures for airflow, and multiple exhaust ports throughout the body.
Side profiles reveal additional aerodynamic components paired with the PCCB carbon-ceramic brake system. Moreover, widened fenders accommodate both an enlarged wing panel at the rear and a small tail skirt.
Rearview shots display massive spoilers, including an oversized ducktail spoiler accompanied by a smaller rudder-style air guide. Notably, yellow stickers placed by testers on the window reveal a high-pressure electrical circuit that powers the vehicle's electrified system.
Speaking of powertrain, the new GT2 has retained its horizontal-mounted six-cylinder engine paired with dual turbochargers supplemented by an electric drive unit. According to insiders, the combined output is expected to exceed 700 units of horsepower.
Scheduled for release in 2026, this marks a significant shift towards hybridization for Porsche's top-tier performance lineup, setting a promising stage for the next era of extreme driving machines.
