Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Dominate Hong Kong Autoshow
Several leading brands under the SAIC Group, including Maxus, Maven, GAC, Changan and DAFI, showcased their latest models at the recent Hong Kong Autoshow in 2025. The exhibition featured a diverse range of vehicles, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, and electric/hybrid variants.
The show did not lack new releases, as expected. 10 new car models will be launched by the group in the next three years; 8 of them are fuel-based power engines; while the other two power variants used different types of motors, including pure electric motor; and one more model was equipped with full solid-state battery.
Maxus
During the event, Maxus unveiled its latest electric pickup ETERRON 9 and light truck EDELIVER 75. The show featured another new addition to the market - Mifa 7, a family MPV that took over as sales leader in local market with Mifa 9 since it entered Hong Kong market in 2023. In this year's exhibition, Maxus for the first time offered an after-sales service package of eight years and twenty million kilometers' total warranty to all Hong Kong customers; meanwhile, four times free maintenance services are also included.
ETERRON 9
ETERRON 9 is a brand new product under starry GST platform. While domestically its name is called starry X battery electric version, price is from 299800-3288cny. Maxus ETERRON 9 features a combination of spotlights, taillights with huge MAXUS logo and suspension with high performance
ETERRON 75
As the first fully electrified MPV model launched in Hong Kong since 2013, Maxus MIFA 7 won more than two-thirds market share by family MPV vehicles. While MIFA 9 is a whole new electric vehicle type for Maxus, while its competitor's price reaches below 360000cny, its price starts at 198000; meanwhile, car size follows the international standards.

In terms of interior, the vehicle uses a unique two-screen layout that integrates digital instrument cluster and main screen; the seating arrangement features comfortable chairs or can also be configured to accommodate multiple passengers. Furthermore, customers at the event were able to experience an air conditioning system designed by JBL.
The power unit's capacity is at 354kW electric motor. With top speed reaching up to 190km/h, its CLTC pure electric endurance reaches up to 560km; meanwhile,the battery is composed of lithium-iron phosphate which improves strength and safety
MENZA
At the event, MenaZ unveiled their new EV SUV, MG ES5, after a successful Hong Kong debut in 2023. The car design takes inspiration from Cyberster’s electric sports coupe, emphasizing its striking appearance.

As for specifications, the vehicle boasts an advanced infotainment system featuring a prominent touch display screen and other user-friendly features such as Carplay or Spfita music player with manual controls at front and rear seats. An additional remote control function allows users to begin cooling their vehicle before entering into them.
DAFI
DAFI showcased 2 new electric models, New Air EV and new cloud EV respectively; while last year it introduced 3 more in Hong Kong market which took over full control on the total sale market share of all e vehicles.
New Air and new Cloud are aimed to target different scenarios for end-users. The vehicle size varies, ranging from big cars to SUVs.
MGS5
At the exhibition, MGV also brought their EV family members – GAC MGS5 - back with a revamped version after introducing one before. With its unique shape in line with e-cars concept and advanced LED light design, the entire car features double split lighting effects from front.
Inside MG GV, there are digital instrument display screen with dual screens on instrument panel and main screen on center dashboard; support Car play/Spotify music application, allowing remote control of audio systems when the vehicle is parked.
The exterior power source uses MG ES5 as base model. GAC MGS 5 also offers remote monitoring by iSmart function,supports wireless charging.
The power generation reaches up to 125 kW combined capacity, which means the battery life can reach over 425km in pure electric mode; 26 minutes just for a top to bottom recharge.
Changan
At this year’s Hong Kong Autoshow, Changan showcased a complete line of products. Among them were IM5 and IM6 family members which launched successfully on market last month.
The interior design, featuring two screens with display length respectively up to 16.7 inches. The seating arrangement features an electrical adjustment system for each front-seat passenger, but it is suitable for those who will be using vehicle for family travel purposes only; meanwhile, back seat passengers can also enjoy a temperature-controlled driving experience, a perfect combination of practicality and comfort.
The latest version is powered by electric transmission power unit. Its driving speed reaches as high as 190km/h.
Changan Intelligent Vehicle
Last but not least, this year Changan showcased its latest strategic products for public transportation. The company has already unveiled multiple versions in global market since last year including this year's model — a new 10- Meter Bus in pure electric version, reaching world top competitive pricing.
The vehicles' weight reduced thanks to advanced aerodynamics and materials utilization strategy from the previous generation.
