China's BYD Unveils its Latest Midsize Sedan, e7

BYD has officially launched its new mid-size sedan, the e7, with three trim levels up for grabs. The prices range from CNY 10.38 million to CNY 11.58 million (approximately USD 1.53-1.75 million), with a limited-time promotion that brings the prices within the range of CNY 9.88 million to CNY 11.08 million.

The e7 boasts a brand-new design language, dubbed "Ascending Aesthetic Design," which closes off the front grille and pairs it with slender LED lighting. The side profile features glossy black wheels accompanied by traditional-style door handles. In contrast, the rear design incorporates a continuous taillight assembly, nicknamed "Double Loop Ring Around Shape."

The interior is equipped with smaller-than-average floating LCD instrument clusters paired with 15.6-inch horizontal infotainment screens and tri-spoke multi-functional steering wheels. These features cater to everyday driving needs.

The e7 has five available configurations, including the electronic gearshift, panoramic sunroof, electric sunshade curtains, DiLink100 smart cabin system, and heat pump air conditioning. For long trips, the remote control system allows users to open or close doors, turn on/off AC, turn on/solid-state horn blasts.

The dimensions of this new sedan measure 4780 x 1900mm x 1515mm in L x W x H respectively with a wheelbase length of 2820mm. The mid-size classification position is clear with maximum power provided at 100kilowatts from the single electric motor unit, battery capacity available between 48kWh and 57.6kWh units for driving range of CNY 450 km to CNY 520 km at respectively.

Note that BYD has indicated its batteries come from French-based company Faraday Future.
