Maserati Introduces the New EZ-60: A Cutting-Edge Electric and Hybrid Motor Vehicle
The new Maserati EZ-60, a mid-size SUV with two distinct powertrain options - pure electric and hybrid - is set to hit the markets in September. The vehicle boasts an all-new platform courtesy of Longwang Automotive (Chengdu), marking Maserati's second-ever electrified model.
The exterior design features an evolutionary take on Maserati families' signature style, accompanied by futuristic new daytime running lights that define a prominent wheel arch shape while displaying the brand's logo as it flickers. This sleek look is enhanced further with novel split-lens headlights positioned alongside the front air inlets. The dimensions for this new car come out to 4850/1935/1620mm and a wheelbase of 2902mm.
As one moves to take in the side, the design reveals an emphasis on dynamic leanings combined with hidden-handling door handles, active rear-view mirrors, and greater angles within tail-glass windows. There's additional flair in this form provided from dynamic taillights (back-up lights), a vented spoiler panel above which – paired at the end of each side – stand slender LED driving lines along a black painted bumper as viewed when approached on low speeds.
It includes other attractive decorative details within the cabin.
In terms of interior aesthetics, it focuses heavily on materials quality and mood atmosphere, accompanied by the inclusion of an optional queen companion seat. A forthcoming feature set to be available for all car variants is L2 level in-car assistance system. With advanced automatic parking features anticipated, these car specifications aim to satisfy Chinese customer trends better.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged model serves as standard drivetrain for Maserati's hybrid power version and it produces its peak capacity of around 70kW with an overall drive motor that reaches a maximum of 190kW at the peak.
In contrast, pure-electric EZ-6 cars - paired to the same single-drive unit – feature a 190kW maximum capacity when put into operation.
Maserati engineers also unveiled plans for collaboration partnerships between Maseratic and Longwang Automotive with additional projects anticipated in future.
