Reinventing the Wheels: China's New Electric Boost Cars Take a Revolutionary Leap with Separated Car Batteries.

Geely's New Electric R7 Model Ditched for PHEV Variant

The Chinese auto giant Geely has released official images of its new electric car, the Geely Guangshi越R7. The latest model boasts a streamlined design and features, as well as an adoption of plug-in hybrid technology.

Key highlights of the exterior include:

  • Simplicity through extreme aesthetics: the 2nd-generation R series adopted a minimalistic approach to create an effortless silhouette.
  • A seamless LED light system that wraps around the entire front face
  • Integrated and standalone elements, showcasing Geely's focus on design consistency throughout its models.

In comparison to its previous counterpart, the R7 now shifts from purely electric vehicles to PHEV capabilities. As per recent regulations, it will be available for sale as such.

This shift reflects the growing presence of PHEVs in the Chinese market. A total of 1.5L natural aspiration engines serve only for power boosts instead of replacing traditional gasoline engines. The main batteries will come from lithium iron phosphate to meet the environmental standards set by the Chinese government.

Paddle shifting enables drivers to opt between electric and hybrid driving modes, depending on their location or needs.
