Xiaomi Introduces Five New Cars and Updates Its Expansion Plans

Xiaomi Motors has announced that it delivered over 28,000 units of its new-generation SUVs in May and plans to release a second batch of models before the year is out. The company has also announced its expansion plans for its new car business.

The latest generation of Xiaomi's SUVs, known as the SU7 and YU7, have been well-received by customers, with over 28,000 units sold in May alone. Meanwhile, the company plans to release the YU7 model in July, which has already garnered significant attention at the Guangzhou-Autoexpo-Plaza- Hong-Kong-Macau Exhibition.

Xiaomi's SUVs have adopted a family-like design language, with a clamshell front grille and large battery compartments. The new cars are expected to perform slightly better than their predecessors.

Inside, the YU7 features high-end materials such as leather and wood patterns, giving it a sophisticated look. Additionally, the car comes equipped with an all-new screen system that showcases information in crystal-clear quality.

Moving on to powertrain options, the YU7 will be available with single motor and dual-motor variants, respectively.

Lastly, the bottom shell of the new cars has come standard equipped with both permanent magnet-assisted regenerative braking (PMAB) and continuous damping reduction (CDR).
