Lucid Refreshes Electric Car Guinness World Record for Longest One-Stop Recharge Distance
A Lucid Air Grand Touring has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest one-stop recharge distance by an electric car. The vehicle successfully completed a 1205 km journey from Switzerland's St. Moritz to Germany's Munich without stopping to refuel.
Driving through the scenic Alpine mountains, highways, and ordinary roads, this feat exceeds the previous record of 1045 km set in June, by an impressive 160 km. This achievement is a testament to Lucid's commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle capabilities.
The starting point, St. Moritz, is nestled in the southern slopes of the Alps at an altitude of approximately 1829 meters. Meanwhile, Munich stands at just over 518 meters below sea level, a difference of approximately 1311 meters. This drastic altitude change presents its own set of challenges; however, Lucid's engineers likely selected a route that followed the gentle slope of the Alpine mountains to minimize the impact of their ascent on overall vehicle performance.
Despite not publicly disclosing the average speed achieved during this journey, a record-breaking distance equivalent to such magnitude speaks to itself. On this achievement the car was driven by Umit Sabanci, an English enterprise owner with ties to several notable figures throughout history.
For its impressive capabilities, Air Grand Touring is equipped featuring 19 inch wheels and long-lasting tires available in all seasons; a remarkable claim from its manufacturers regarding this particular automobile model's performance range – officially recorded at 830 kilometers before requiring refueling.
