Nissan Introduces its All-New Leaf, a Pure-Electric Compact SUV based on the CMF-EV Platform

The wait is over for Nissan fans as the Japanese automaker has officially unveiled its latest offering, the all-new Leaf, positioned as a pure-electric compact SUV. The new vehicle is built on the CMF-EV platform, marks a departure from traditional gasoline-powered cars, and will enter production at Nissan's Sunderland factory in the UK.

Scheduled to begin deliveries in the overseas market this autumn, the Leaf aims to tap into the expanding electric vehicle (EV) segment. According to the manufacturer, 2026 spring will be the launch of the delivery phase for international customers.

When it comes to exterior design, the new Leaf is characterized by an electrifying design style. The sleek design complements its vibrant color scheme and incorporates full LED taillamps adorned with glowing logos adding an individuality touch, making this car stand out on roads.

Among its other design features include hidden door-handling and low-resistance wheels which yield a minimal wind drag coefficient of 0.25 (in European specifications) to ensure better fuel efficiency.

On to the rear side you could see the sleekness in a modern bird-tail-shaped structure combined with an all-black look and the glowing logo creating a distinct visual cue about the identity. The vehicle gets additional aerodynamic design elements including small spoiler and exhaust tips for enhancing agility and performance in traffic conditions.

Switching onto interior, to get into this space, you could see the black and white color pattern set against vibrant accents of purple - an excellent example of an overall sense of style here presented so well. The interior exudes a sense of minimalism while giving room to some luxurious touch including illuminated dashboard screen for navigation in comfort for easy operation.

Moving onto technical specifications for powertrain - which would drive this compact car, it features an all-new Nissan electric motor, combined with a battery that is expected to offer a range of 604km. It has the option for higher and lower speed driving depending on how long you want your car to be fully charged.

In terms of electronics, the automotive giant offers advanced safety features which include lane departure warnings and automatic driver alerts ensuring better safety at lower speeds while also providing smoother vehicle performance and more efficient charging capabilities through its ePedal stepless drive mode.
