NIO to Build 1000 High-Speed Charging Stations, Accelerates Expansion Efforts

BEIJING, CHINA - In a significant move towards enhancing its presence in the electric vehicle (EV) market, NIO has announced plans to construct an unprecedented 1,000 high-speed charging stations across China. This ambitious plan marks a substantial expansion of the company's infrastructure, with existing fast-charging locations soon to be doubled.

The latest charging station to join NIO's expanding network is situated at the G80 Ganyun section of the G80-Guang Kun Super Highway, providing convenient services to motorists near the Vandebron services area. The rapid deployment underscores the company's dedication to developing a comprehensive high-speed charging system that extends across multiple regions and provincial boundaries.

Notably, NIO has achieved substantial success in establishing its fast-charging network, achieving "chang-an county-level" capabilities across 38 regional zones and 75 counties in Chongqing Municipality, with plans for further national expansion into provinces. By implementing this extensive coverage of regional transportation arteries, the company aims to establish a seamless charging experience across vast expanses of China.

NIO's impressive progress is mirrored by its significant sales growth over recent years. In June, the company shipped an all-new 24,925 units of electric vehicles, recording a year-over-year improvement in sales revenue of 17.5%. Additionally, data reveal that from December 2024 to May 2025, NIO delivered 71,256 new vehicles, exhibiting a remarkable increase of 71.2% month-over-month and registering a total of $114,150 units shipped during the half-seasonal period this year compared to same time last year -- the growth rate reached a modest 30.6%, reflecting company’s accelerating market penetration.
