Leica's Coconut Update Brings Enhanced Features to 7 Updates and 141 Improvements, Including Advanced Safety and AI-powered Services
Beijing, May 29 (Automotive News) - Leica Motor has released the latest version of its Coconut infotainment system, which brings an array of enhancements across various domains including vehicle safety, convenience features, and connectivity options.
This update includes over 79 functional improvements, covering areas such as entertainment, active safety, and basic driving experiences. Notably, Leica Coco has reached a milestone with seven Over-The-Air (OTA) updates since its launch, adding and refining a total of 141 functions - including an additional 86 new features.
The latest update also incorporates advanced safety features, as it now offers end-to-end automatic emergency braking (AEB), becoming the second manufacturer to roll out this technology. The implementation involved collaborating with Geely's V2X smart driving program, and a thorough process of training models, adapting performance parameters, and extensive testing across millions of kilometers. The upgraded system enhances its response to potential hazards by expanding the target angle of attack up to 240 degrees as opposed to its earlier version.
Moreover, Leica Coco has seen the launch of an AI-powered voice-activated food ordering experience dubbed "macca (McDonald's) smart order", partnering with Geely's M&A Smart Agent framework and utilizing their SkyCore "Service Hub" technology. The platform allows for seamless command processing, including voice-based orders, payment systems, navigation routing adjustments, as well as real-time pickup/toll scheduling at the restaurant or along a route.
In another development, Leica has upgraded its 'No-Macca music' app to version 2.0. This update features several notable AI-driven enhancements: an algorithmic voice cleaner and enhancer that aims to remove sound issues like nasal resonance and stammering through advanced algorithms; an automatic accompaniment system that identifies whether those listening are singing along, immediately switching between original verses and choruses; and real-time control of volume levels in tandem with audio content creation for a smoother listening experience.
The company has stated that this latest Coconut update solidifies Leica's position at the vanguard of smart vehicle systems offering comprehensive convenience while upping performance in driver safety.
