East Wind Nami 06: The Latest Electric SUV to Hit the Market

On May 27th, East Wind's latest electric SUV, the Nami 06, made its official debut. This new model comes in five trim levels, with prices starting at 7.99 to 10.99 yuan (approximately 1,120 to 1,540 USD).

Based on a quantum architecture by Dongfeng, the Nami 06 is positioned as a pure-electric small SUV. Noteworthy features of the Nami 06 include its proprietary "sky gate" door system and advanced LED lighting. The interior boasts an "extreme simplicity" theme with 8.8-inch touchscreen displays and multifunction steering wheels.

The exterior design incorporates functional elements such as massive air intake ducts and sporty front fascias, while maintaining a unique and futuristic look.

Interior

Nami 06 interior is a masterclass in minimalism with clean, simple lines. Rear legroom seats up to 900mm and large side mirrors add up to an extra 1.3 meters of horizontal space and can transform into beds with an added "couch mode" feature providing further space.

Space on the Nami 06 extends from the driver's seat through to the rear section. Seats adjust in two angles, accommodating passengers in both first- and third-class seating configuration which is perfect in various driving situations and road conditions like construction or heavy rain. When you want to park securely after parking your truck, all seats can be adjusted forward so that no part of them sticks out behind Nami 06 for safety purposes.

Electric Power and Range

East Wind claims its electric powertrain produces up to 135kw electricity with an approximate top speed of 180km/h while in E mode. There are two different batteries available depending upon whether you need shorter or longer driving days. The batteries include capacities of 44.94 Kwh, but if your battery doesn't make less than 15% it will automatically charge to a level to which no one else will ever actually need.
