NIO Day 2025 Adjusted to Autumn Schedule, New ES8 Unveiled
Beiqi, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced that this year's NIO Day will be held in the autumn instead of the previously slated summer date. The decision was made after consulting with community users and taking into account their feedback on how to better align the event with NIO's product launch schedule.
According to Beiqi officials, NIO Day is a annual gathering that brings together the brand and its community of users. Since its inception in 2017, the event has become an eagerly anticipated fixture on the automotive calendar, with tens of thousands of participants from around the world engaging in a range of activities, including product launches. This year's iteration will feature the launch of Beiqi's new ES8 model, which is set to debut at the same time as NIO Day.
Beiqi attributed its decision to hold NIO Day in the autumn to several factors, including the better weather and availability of venues during this time of year. By moving the event from December, which would have coincided with Christmas holidays, Beiqi hopes to make it more accessible to overseas users. The company also stated that it was eager to capitalize on the product launch season, which typically takes place in the spring and summer months.
While NIO Day 2025 will still feature a range of activities and events, including the launch of new products and exclusive preview sessions, Beiqi has announced that it will be introducing changes to its subscription model. The company plans to introduce new feedback mechanisms, incorporating user suggestions and comments into its planning process.
The star attraction at NIO Day 2025 is undoubtedly the all-new ES8, which is set to make its global debut on September 3rd. According to road testers' reports, we can expect a range of significant upgrades, including an exterior design makeover featuring sharp creases, and a substantial increase in interior space.
While technical specifications are still pending confirmation, insiders have hinted at improved performance figures courtesy of twin electric motors, which could potentially deliver outputs of up to 340kW. This would represent a considerable power boost over the outgoing ES8 model, which is currently available with a single configuration producing around 250kW.
A notable aspect of this new ES8 will be its potential to accommodate a larger front trunk space, similar to that found on rival brands such as Alfa Romeo. The result will likely be an improved level of cargo capacity, making the vehicle more practical for everyday use.
The company also has made promises about this year's NIO Day event having better long-term effects regarding upgrades and performance due to "in-depth consideration" from all aspects and even will incorporate new feedback mechanisms during their upcoming updates.
