NIO Unveils 2026 Zero 16 with Upgrade in Comfort, Range, and Intelligence

The latest electric vehicle from Chinese manufacturer NIO, the 2026 Zero 16, is set to hit the market in June of next year. The electric sedan has already begun pre-sales, offering six trim levels with prices ranging from CNY 1698 to CNY 1998. This new iteration upgrades the vehicle in terms of comfort, range, and intelligence across more than 70 product features.

The enhanced version of Zero 16 comes equipped with a larger 38.7kWh battery pack, granting the vehicle an electric range of over 280 kilometers on a single charge under the Chinese national driving cycle (CLTC). This is an increase from its predecessor's rating.

NIO has retained the design elements from previous models, including both the interior and exterior designs, while introducing new features such as a five-seat trim to accommodate more passengers in larger families or groups where six seats won't suffice. For improved comfort, enhanced lumbar support in the driver’s seat is now available along with an added massage function for all rear passengers for increased versatility under a trip.

Furthermore, the 2026 Zero 16 comes integrated with 128-line ultrasonic radar and incorporates a 5G-based high-performance computing system to boost safety and convenience. The car's adaptive cruise control has been upgraded to include lane-keep functionalities using forward, side and rearward FSD. Additionally, a smart parking feature is being added for better maneuverability.

The drivetrain features an upgrade as well. The variant of the Zero 16 equipped with all-electric powertrain now boasts significant improvements in both performance and range over its previous counterparts, allowing occupants to enjoy extended road trips while environmentally friendly. NIO promises even longer ranges under enhanced battery technology — a clear sign of their ongoing commitment towards innovation in sustainable mobility.
