Harbinging a Smart Future: Huawei's Pioneering AI Upgrades by 2025

Chinese Giant Baojun Tests New Collaboration Mode with Huawei

A breakthrough has been made in the automotive sector as Chinese automaker Baojun Automobile confirmed its partnership with Huawei. The two companies are exploring a new cooperation model, referred to as "ESSA+Huawei," which promises to bridge the gap between "smart chassis" and intelligent driving systems.

This development builds upon the recent announcement by Baojun's CEO, Lu Juyuan, in February who emphasized that the company will leverage Huawei's Quanshan AI driving algorithm across various vehicle models. With this move, the automaker plans to make its products more intelligent by 2025 and expand this effort into multiple segments.

The news comes at a time when Baojun is actively promoting its marketing efforts through Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company has recently launched an official online livestream featuring "digital personalities,” producing thousands of AI-generated content, among other strategies. This move underscores the company's commitment to digital transformation and leveraging cutting-edge technology in its advertising campaigns.

It appears that Baojun is going all-out to attract talent in AI engineering, particularly those with experience spanning five years or more, with top salaries reaching a reported $75,000 per month. The automotive industry has been witnessing significant competition for skilled engineers who can contribute significantly to the advancement of autonomous vehicles and smart technologies.

Internal sources reveal that Baojun is currently recruiting highly skilled professionals specializing in AI development. In 2024 alone, over 1000 applications were received by the company for its in-house intelligent systems job openings. With this new recruitment drive expected to be completed soon, the automaker is said to have ambitious hiring targets of more than 500 professionals focused on various areas of smart technology and advanced engineering.

Once completed, Baojun aims to reach a total staff of 1500 personnel equipped with expertise in cutting-edge technologies across three major regions Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan.
