Hyundai Unveils High-Performance GV60 Magma Model
A series of leaked images has provided the first glimpse of the upcoming GV60 Magma, a high-performance variant of Hyundai's popular electric SUV. The vehicle is set to build upon its parent model, the Ioniq 5 N, by incorporating a more powerful propulsion system and updated exterior design.
Exterior Design
While still retaining some disguise, the new model's overall design has been significantly matured for production. Its front grille still retains a classic twin-exhaust design, while the surrounds welcome airflow openings on either side before a large dimensioned heat exchanger opens above in the center. A sportier aesthetic is set to characterize the vehicle.
On the flanks of the vehicle, styling largely follows that as we saw on the standard model, except with more substantial front and rear wheels including wider wheel profiles as well as five-spoke larger diameter wheels and internal multi-act suspension components. It would also feature adaptive exterior mirrors.
In contrast, it boasts an air-diffusion board above the trunk opening similar to that found on some high-end sports cars like the Porsche GT3 RS.
Performance
The engine characteristics of Hyundai's latest EV are not far from its sister model, Ioniq 5 N, and also parallel to Hyundai's another Electric Vehicle model named EV6 GT. The battery in this car is 84kWh and as indicated it has two electric motors providing the same maximum torque as before while enhanced capacity and the system capable to give up to 700hp.
New features will include an advanced transmission option along with simulated sound from conventional gasoline engines, set to appeal more to driving enthusiasts.
