Marriott's i2 Luxury Hotel Delayed: What Changes for Booking?

BMW's Electric Lineup Pushed Back to 2030, i2 Confirmed as Three-Seater

In recent months, it has been revealed that BMW's entry-level electric vehicle plans have been pushed back to 2030. The i2 model will be a three-seater, while the i1 will adopt a two-seater design.

The i1 and i2 vehicles are expected to mark the beginning of a new era for BMw, as they signify the end of gasoline-powered versions of some popular models. While the exact status of fuel-powered variants in 2030 remains unclear, their introduction could have significant implications for BMW's lineup.

Initially, BMW had envisioned i1 as an electric version of the 1 Series, positioning it as a compact sedan set to launch in 2027. Meanwhile, the i2 was expected to succeed the discontinued i3 (2022 model) and would be identified as a compact SUV, anticipated to debut in 2028. The switch from a two-seater design for i2 to a three-seater configuration could pave the way for additional models.

Both new arrivals will reportedly share the Neue Klasse platform and utilize BMW's sixth-generation battery technology, which will also include rear-wheel drive and four-drive variants.

Notably, Neue Klasse is set to debut with the Munich Auto Show in September this year; however, a domestic version of iX3 L (based on the same platform) is planned for release, arriving in 2026. Further details surrounding the vehicles will be continuously monitored for updates
