Longan Ruihe EV Officially Launched, Offers Two Models with Different Prices

The newly launched Longan Ruihe EV has brought two models to the market: EM60 and EM80. With prices starting from 7.19 yuan (1.02 USD) for the base model EM60, and ranging from 7.59 yuan (0.99 USD) to 7.69 yuan (0.99 USD) for the EM80. The exact price of each model will depend on factors such as seating capacity and rear door design.

The Longan Ruihe EV is positioned as a pure electric pick-up truck, with upgrades in exterior design and battery technology. The EM80 has a larger size compared to the EM60, while maintaining similar aesthetics.

Five exclusive benefits are offered by the new Ruihe EV, which can be viewed below:

Upon first glance, both models feature a similar design language, with new closed-front facades and renewed energy feel. The LED lights are in square shape, equipped with a lens, the central is adorned with a decorative frame, resulting in clean lines. On top of the car, there is an air intake device designed to allow cooling to be provided for the battery and electrically operated motors.

The sides look equally robust and streamlined. The overall design aims at excellent use of space while providing sufficient room, with each unit being more spacious than others, such as 5.4 cubic meters in long-range models, a total weight capacity around one ton above it is expected.

A very plain design language for both units allows a somewhat nostalgic impression, so you won't find too many complicated lines.

On the tail end of the model, there are no surprises; just classic horizontal-shaped lights without a single sharp edge. The opening design when the gate is wide can be seen in its entirety which should definitely improve passenger's view.

The interiors maintain consistency throughout both models, and the visual style remains clean and minimalistic. Although overall simplicity prevails here, you can still find small signs of comfort: a three-plate steering wheel set, air conditioning controls, an electric fan system with knob switches, and only one simple radio device which further accentuates realism.

Inside both variants is a rotary gear shift mechanism. Two cups at the front, a light switch for using your car, as well as USB charging stations can be found here also.

As far as power goes, we had two versions available, but they're nearly identical when it comes to technicality:

  • High-efficiency lithium battery developed by Ningde.
  • 7.0 kW motor for good acceleration
  • Both vehicles offer a range of around 300kms in electric mode, and fast charge from 30 minutes to 50 percent to achieve speeds up to 120km in half an hour, offering more than enough efficiency.

Finally, the editor's point is:

The recent years' commercial delivery market have been increasingly gaining new energy cars. Compared with oil-powered cars, pure-electric vehicles can significantly increase their fuel-efficiency cost for short-distance deliveries and bring great benefits under the perspective of low-speed torque; thus they will likely take full power in urban transportation scenarios. However, due to limitations in battery technology development right now, some improvements have yet to be made on electric truck delivery scenarios.
