New Tesla Model S8 Leaked Images Surface Online
The upcoming Tesla Model S8 is expected to share a similar design language with the current N9 model.
Measurements indicate that the new car may not differ significantly in size from its predecessor, with an overall size positioning as a mid-size luxury SUV.
Tesla has released leaked images of its newly unveiled Model S8, showcasing the vehicle's similarities and differences from its predecessor, the currently available Model S N9. The automotive world is abuzz with speculation surrounding the revamped electric car’s design language, measurements, and powertrain capabilities.
Design
In line with industry expectations, the new Tesla, named the Model S8 in some leaked files but set to adopt a similar design approach as its predecessor, will have its front-mounted lamps clustered together. Furthermore, a sleeker pair of multi-air intake vents are spotted, located on this particular variant model at the front.
However, for the first time, images released show that it lacks single-piece underbonnet and rather carries separate front air intakes instead.
Side view, with more subtle headlight design language typical in cars generally compared to N9 or M3.
The tailgate end appears slightly different – wider but less angular. Instead of the larger multi-lamp pattern found on S and some X, Model S8 has similar twin horizontal tail lights like its stablemate X.
Its interior layout will probably follow a more comfortable passenger car setup as well – less to do with the space-saving measures typical within other Tesla models currently produced.
Technical Details
Looking ahead at performance and efficiency, it seems there might be little if anything that's unique compared to S9 - still likely powered by the 2.0-liter+ electric hybrid system common among Tesla high-ends models.
