Reason for Recall:
According to officials, some Volvo models produced between April 2024 and August 2023 have been found vulnerable to software errors that may cause loss of braking functionality. These issues could increase the risk of accidents if a driver fails to apply brakes in time while descending a slope on electric or hybrid mode.
Corrective Measures:
In order to address these concerns, Volvo has decided to provide complimentary software upgrades for vehicles affected by this recall.
Upon completion of necessary documentation and communication with relevant stakeholders including users and dealership customers of the Volvos, it can be anticipated that all vehicles will meet new regulations set forth in their safety standards.
