Berlingetta Concept Revealed: Aiming for Endless Open Road Adventures in NYC Auto Show

Subaru Unveils Concept Trailseeker at 2025 New York International Auto Show

Subaru has confirmed plans to unveil a brand-new electric SUV concept car, aptly named Trailseeker, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. The vehicle is set to be based on a joint development platform with Toyota and is expected to premiere in overseas markets as early as 2026.

Design and Features

Renderings released by Subaru reveal that the production version of Trailseeker will maintain its off-road heritage, echoing Subaru's DNA. A large defensive panel is situated behind the rear bumper, while the side doors have a bold and direct silhouette. The exterior seems to draw inspiration from Toyota's RAV4 and Ridge, although with more extreme front-end features and roof rack accommodations.

Powertrain and Performance

Contrary to initial rumors,Trailseeker appears to be powered by an electric drivetrain on Toyota's e-TNGA Platform rather than a conventional engine. To improve off-road prowess, an upgraded power delivery system that matches well with the X-MODE full-time four-wheel drive system will also feature in this new SUV, equipped with double motors arranged for better emergency escapes compared to the Terracan.

Details and Availability

Subaru has yet to announce local production plans for Trailseeker; however, initial forecasts suggest it will find its way into Chinese market showrooms, starting as late as October 2026.
