Hyundai Kia Boosts Best-Seller: Revolutionary Toyota Hilux Rival Hits Chinese Market with Huawei & Xiaomi Partnerships

Toyota Gets Ready to Launch New Energy Vehicles in China

On May 10th, the Guangqi Toyota Technology Day was held, and the company announced that it will roll out a new generation of Hyunix and Nera models, with several additional electric hybrid vehicles also currently under development. Moreover, Guangqi Toyota further expanded its lithium battery product line-up to further diversify its energy vehicle offerings. The company also announced plans to accelerate its fifth-generation hybrid powertrain technology and start developing the sixth-era.

In addition, Guangqi Toyota revealed that it will launch two new dedicated platforms for Chinese users. For smaller vehicles (class A1 and B), a new platform is set to be used with a focus on interior space, while larger vehicles (class C) are designed with hybrid capabilities in mind. These platforms will provide a more compatible environment for hybrid vehicles.

Furthermore, Guangqi Toyota confirmed partnerships with companies like Huawei. As part of this partnership, the first HarmonySpace 5 interface is being launched within its cars, facilitating seamless connectivity for car enthusiasts. Moreover, a new hardware interface is also being introduced on the 7th generation model, catering to users seeking more flexibility in their vehicles.

Lastly, Guangqi Toyota expanded into the smaller market of smart home technology for small-scale automotive, which sees the 7th generation equipped with the open-ended Hardwar Interface. Such advanced solutions will help bridge gaps in transportation efficiency and safety; particularly key areas of autonomous transportation include turn-by-turn guidance, smart steering systems, lane monitoring and road recognition systems.
