Baiji 06DM-i Travel Version to Be Released on July 4th
The official word has confirmed that the Baiji 06DM-i Travel Version will officially go on sale on July 4th. The new car, which made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier, is expected to be priced between 12-15 million yuan.
The latest version of the travel package retains the front face design of the existing Baiji 06 three-box version, and is equipped with a large number of horizontal decorative strips. The dual L-type LED daytime running lights create a fierce visual effect, while two lateral air intakes have been added around the vehicle for decoration.
After adopting the travel-themed packaging, the Baiji 06DM-i Travel Version has a more relaxed top line and increased the size of the side windows. The roof design features a luggage rack. The rear appears more rounded in shape, with an additional wind deflector on top and coordinated with the cabin-style rear lights from the sedan version.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4850/1890/1505mm, maintaining a fixed length-to-width ratio to unchanged at 2790mm, while increasing the standard cargo capacity by 650L. The Baiji 06DM-i Travel Version carries over a substantial portion of the interior design to that of the standard model Baiji 06 DM-i.
On the inside, a large floating center console will be maintained along with other design elements from previous models. However, there is an adjustment to the control column's layout and the addition of an electronic steering lock switch is instead adopted, in favor of a traditional push-to-start system. The front seats will feature wireless charging capabilities.
Additionally, there is the option for a new car battery to power a rear compartment refrigerator. Additionally, this vehicle will be equipped with the Tian Shen Eye Intelligent Drive System, further enhancing usability and convenience.
From a performance standpoint, the new Baiji 06DM-i Travel Version will use fifth-generation DM from Biandu to bring an optimal driving experience combined with a powerful rechargeable motor system that pairs well with the internal combustion engine. With electric power delivered through either rear-wheel or all-wheels-drive the driving range for both all-electric and gasoline-based operation is respectively 150km and 80km, making use of both available on longer driving trips under ideal road conditions.
The details are yet to be disclosed; more updates will be covered in subsequent reports.
