Geely Reports Details of New i6 Model
A recently leaked set of promotional graphics from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has revealed a clearer look at Geely's upcoming i6 model. The vehicle, which is positioned as a 5-seat SUV, is expected to enter production in September.
The design cues shared in these images draw inspiration from its sister model, the i8. The front end appears more angular than the i8, with a pronounced grille and sloping hood. However, what's most striking about the image is the overall shape of the car, which seems somewhat shorter than the i8 but has a more aggressive stance.
Compared to the i8, the new model has a slightly reduced length but maintains its impressive wheelbase and axle-to-radius ratio. The LED lights are positioned in a more modern arrangement to enhance approach angles.
When it comes to dimensions, the i6 is reported to measure 4,950mm in length, 1,935mm in width, and 1,655mm in height. Its wheelbase stretches over 3 meters, underscoring Geely's focus on providing a spacious interior for its customers.
While the manufacturer has yet to officially announce the official specifications of the i6, sources have revealed that it will standardly come equipped with a 5C phosphate iron lithium-ion battery and an 800V charging architecture. The car is forecasted to offer excellent range thanks to its high-power electric motor.
The engine configuration for the new model includes both two-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, providing its owner more flexibility when driving on different terrains.
