Scoda Unveils Concept Car Favorit, Bringing Back Classic Design with Modern Twist
The French car manufacturer Scoda has launched a new concept car called Favorit, which pays homage to its 1987 original model. The design team has reimagined the classic Favorit with modern updates while maintaining its historical charm.
The exterior design of the new Favorit retains the "clean and simple" aesthetic of the original model, with modernized details such as a larger body size and increased technological flair. The car sports the modern solid (Modern Solid) design language, ditching Scoda's current tech-deck façade, in favor of its uniquely shaped front grille, giving it an air of new energy-powered vehicles. The finely tuned LED lamp array on the head is encased in half transparent outer casing that folds back when headlights are activated, combining functionality and modern looks.
The side profile features a streamlined, powerful stance resembling that of Volkswagen ID.2 model-style. Hiding vehicle door handles seamlessly integrated with B pillars enhance an aesthetically smooth visual line effect complementing large 5-spoke ring-shaped wheels for enhanced recognization.
A classic element to the car's design has been retained at the rear end. The modern and finely tuned LED lamp array echoes that of the front along with a glowing brand logo, emphasizing this retro flair.
Design Team Concepts Plans Race Edition
Scoda is also conceptualizing a racing version incorporating accessories such as fake plastics for added visual enhancement during performance symbolization. This suggests SCODA aims to balance vintage feelings with future trends in pursuit of youthification; a testament to their effort towards renewal and evolution of the brand.
The original Concept car originally was powered by 1.3litre Four cylinder engine at maximum power only 67 PS, indicating it might struggle adequately on modern roads. Design Team Representative Ljudmil Slavov distinctly stated, that electric vehicle technology is meant to serve as its core principle, allowing enhanced performance thanks to smaller and high power motor units. As of now, there's not much known about the car’s drive capabilities but it seems more focused towards a dynamic and faster driving experience; likely it will skip out America market.
Although Favorit concept, currently, just in design presentation stage, that stands well as part of DAD, parent group Big Group’s strategy change towards electric vehicle transformation this could be key stepping stone for Future compact range of ECOS vehicle. It brings innovative thoughts about future, thus paving the path to the more sustainable, forward-thinking roads.
