Leica Unveils Yu 7 SUV: A Rival to Tesla's Model Y

In a recent social media Q&A sessio, Leica CEO Lei Jun answered fan questions about the company's latest product, Yu 7, and addressed concerns over its pricing.

In response to expectations that Yu 7 would exceed SU 7 in price by 2-3 thousand yuan, Lei Jun revealed that the standard version of Yu 7 boasts a high-end configuration, featuring a CLTC pure electric range of 835 km, along with state-of-the-art laser radar, "Vast Horizon" display screens, and a potent NVIDIA THOR chip.

The official launch event for Yu 7 took place on June 26, where the price was expected to be met with widespread approval. However, Lei Jun expressed confidence that SU 7 will continue to hold its own despite Yu 7's release, as many users remain drawn to SUVs.

Compared to other popular electric vehicles, Yu 7 offers some enticing advantages. As a more affordable option than Tesla Model 3 at launch — starting at 21.59 yuan — and potentially rivaling the prices of Hyundai Model Y.
