Chinese EV Brand Geely to Launch New ET5 and ET5T Models on May 25th

A recent set of prototype images obtained by our domestic outlet show the latest iterations of Geely's ET5 and ET5T electric vehicles, which are scheduled to go on sale on May 25th. The new models will share a focus on comfort and advanced technology features with Geely's recently launched ES6 and EC6 electric models.

The pricing strategy for the new models is expected to follow the same "no change, just more" approach as the older ES6/EC6 variants, which means that prices for the ET5/ET5T could remain in line with the current range of 29.8-35.6 yuan (approximately $4,200-$5,100 USD).

The exterior design changes are mostly centered around the replacement of the traditional rectangular LED headlights with the new ADB smart multi-lens headlight system. The car's trim options have also been expanded to include new purple and silver paint colors. For wheels, Geely will offer full-new wheel designs with red brake calipers that showcase a sporty feel.

Inside, the main updates are centered around the 15.6-inch floating infotainment screen, which replaces the current setup. Furthermore, we can look forward to improvements in user interfaces by incorporating new W-HUD (Head Up Display) and NOMI Mate 3.0 technologies as well. Lastly, there have been rumors suggesting that certain models might feature premium amenities such as heated seats with ventilation, massage functions, or even more details are awaited for our official announcement.

The driving system will upgrade the current setup by incorporating a new JadeNX9031 processor that should enable improved city and highway navigation capabilities.

In terms of performance and range, no significant changes are expected; we can rely on the existing 150kW+210kW powertrain, with battery options ranging from 75kWh to 150kWh. However, we might see improvements on its electronic suspension system with integration features like high-speed blowout control systems and intelligent adaptive cornering assistant capabilities.
