SMG Increases Hopes for Electric Vehicle Adoption With Upcoming X9 Boost Variant
A leaked image of the new boost version of the Sino-Motor Group's (SMG) X9 electric vehicle has fuelled speculation about the release date of its first boost variant, G01. According to earlier plans, the X9 is expected to arrive in November. However, due to the latest development, SMG is now anticipating a possible delay, pushing back the launch date to the final quarter of this year or early next.
Industry insiders believe that the production of the upcoming boost model may come with the benefit of lower entry prices for clients.
Leaked images of the X9's Boosted variant reveal an MPV configuration, sharing the same exterior body style as the mainline X9. The boosted unit is expected to pack significant upgrades which contribute positively to its performance and range.
According to a prior launch announcement, in November last year, SMG unveiled its "Dolphin" boost technology for electric vehicles, capable of achieving 430 km fully-electric driving experience, with overall fuel economy reaching a massive 1400km. Furthermore, a rapid-boost feature (reduced from one second per kilometer to mere 1/12) and ultra-speed charging function are amongst various technologies used in the vehicle.
