Bear the Status Quo? BMW Unveils First Teaser of All-New X7 - Set to Challenge the Competition in 2027

New BMW X7 Generation Tests Revealed

A series of exclusive photos of the all-new BMW X7 have surfaced, hinting at a fresh generation of the iconic luxury SUV. According to sources familiar with the matter, the new X7 is expected to debut on the CLAR-WE platform, promising improved fuel efficiency and a more agile powertrain.

The first-generation X7 has maintained its design language since its introduction in 2019, but insiders suggest that the new model will introduce subtle updates. The front fascia retains the large kidney grille, chunky LED headlights, and an electronic park brake system. However, insiders speculate that the overall design will undergo a significant transformation to fit the latest Neue Klasse aesthetic.

While the current X7 has a thick camouflage wrap covering its rear-end, revealing only vague hints of its true proportions, sources indicate significant changes from this point forward. A prominent chrome trim atop the B-pillars suggests electronic door handles, which might not be available on the production model. Large alloy wheels will dominate the sides, with an attractive 19-inch and 20-inch option offering ample support for a variety of tire sizes.

The rear section seems to remain relatively intact at this stage, but insiders predict noticeable improvements in lights, taillamps may undergo changes, and there'll likely be some adjustments along the B-pillar. Another notable element seen through some photos from test units is the side sills, which carry BMW's latest exhaust layout technology.

One major thing missing are any details on interior layouts so far. BMW had announced its newest cabin update in January 2024 saying it will come along with all-new platforms (not Neue Klasse specifically), and this tech would be a universal part of new models instead of just the top-tier cars like Neue Klasses we now see.

BMW has not officially announced any details on the X7’s powertrain or release date yet, but as the upcoming Neuwagen season is expected to bring quite a few groundbreaking innovations - BMW might take all possible chances under their platform to get ahead in terms of design.
