Barn Burning: BMW's New i4 M60 Smashes Expectations with 601-Horsepower Power

BMW Unveils High-Performance i4 M60 xDrive, Exceeds M3 CS Capabilities

In a significant move, BMW has released the official images of its newly launched Bimmer i4 M60 xDrive, which boasts impressive performance and upgraded features. The latest iteration in the M range sees major enhancements in terms of power and refinement.

The reworked design offers subtle improvements over its predecessor, including revised front aprons with a dual-layered upper design accentuating movement. The 20-inch five-spoke wheels are an added feature, while the charging port on the left front wing has been relocated to the right rear wing, better suited for its purpose.

The M60 xDrive also introduces fresh changes at the rear, including the reintroduction of a redesigned trunk skid plate and modern OLED light sources behind a sleeker design. These updates maintain the vehicle's muscular appearance while respecting BMW heritage.

Inside, the i4 M60 retains many familiar lines from its predecessor. The center stack remains similar to an earlier model, with display screens and interior elements adopting a red-blue palette, paired with carbon fiber inlays to showcase M-style flair.

Key upgrades, however, lie under the hood, where both the rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive variants of the i4 eDrive35 and eDrive40 models gain fresh electric motors, leveraging cutting-edge technology for improved performance efficiency. The high-performance variant pushes the brand's dynamic capabilities beyond that of its M3 CS rival.

Specifications for the high-end model reveal a combined power output of 601 horsepower, with the e Drive xDrive traction all-wheel-drive unit delivering 442 kWh of energy – exceeding 601 horsepower from a traditional internal combustion engine. A top speed of 225 mph is achievable behind the wheel.

Moreover, advancements to its high-tech capabilities provide significant gains for practicality as well. Charging in from minimal power levels results in full throttle potential within 30 minutes via rapid charging alone, ensuring efficient day-to-day use. With an impressive battery life now reaching up to 510 miles under WLTP regulations (electric efficiency at real-world mileage tests), drivers will be rewarded by the flexibility offered.

In final note, all three high-performance variants of BMW i4 (M60 xDrive and updated eDrive35/eDrive40 in line) enjoy power boosts accompanied by a performance output reduction that improves both driving dynamics efficiency and practical use overall.
