BMW Intensifies Product Refresh with China-Focused Strategy
BMW has ramped up production plans for the third quarter, unveiling a series of updates designed to revamp its core offerings in the Chinese market. The focus is on key models such as the 5 Series, X5, X3, and X1.
The updates, which are set to hit dealerships soon, will bring a mix of configuration tweaks, feature upgrades, and aesthetic refreshes. Key highlights include:
New BMW 5 Series
- The 530Li xDrive model has seen its luxurious trim levels scrapped in favour of the sporty variant.
- A new sapphire blue paint option joins the available palette.
- Owners of select variants can now opt to add complimentary gloss black trim.
X5 Updates
- Non-S night editions have been dropped altogether, replacing them will be exclusive '曜夜' packages for standard xDrive 40Li models, which comes with a complimentary gloss black exterior colour finish. Inside, one can enjoy the new ocean blue Veganza synthetic upholstery.
- Night editions retain xDrive system without the sport variant however offer additional exterior hue change.
Models Update
The X3 will use an M Performance night suit across all trim levels in its standard and 2-wheel-drive variants with their front-silhouette no longer carrying a separate marking, and the rear light module features were downgraded. A revised set of colour hues is available for this model only as well. Moreover, an update has also been made to the X3's M40i variant; it gains the option to remove AR navigation on its night spec version but comes free with gloss black trim.
The X1's M variant gets a revamp as an updated sporty colour palette joins its range; it is also available without ARArrow feature from its M edition.
i3 eDrive 35L, i3 eDrive 40 L - Upgrade
New generation electric variants, upgrade their specifications:
- i3 eDrive 35L: 550 miles of effective range extended (CLTC).
Additionally a more premium braking kit adds to the upgrades.
