2024 Mercedes-AMG EQE: Meet Electric Throne's Succesor

Mercedes-AMG Unveils Pre-Facelift GT Lineup, Emphasizing Performance and Efficiency

Mercedes-AMG recently released the official teaser image for its upcoming GT lineup, signaling the start of a new generation of high-performance powerhouses. The new models are set to be built on the AMG.EA platform and boast impressive electric performance.

The AMG E.A platform serves as the foundation for these electrified powerhouses. With maximum power expected to reach 1000 horsepower, this is an ambitious step forward in terms of efficiency without compromising Mercedes-AMG's reputation for exceptional performance.

From the preliminary image released by Mercedes-AMG, key design elements become apparent. The front-end boasts a newly designed tritone visage that further accentuates its connection with "Mercedes". An aggressive grating element has been added around the car, complementing what could be described as an unapologetic three-pronged star emblem on the hood that will make drivers proud to drive this model.

Design aspects continue down the centerline where new front fog lights are integrated into a comprehensive tritone grid display, enhancing the distinctive Mercedes-AMG aesthetic. Furthermore, when it comes to what could be described as the most distinct design element - the front grille's placement and shape - Mercedes went for full enclosure type while adopting traditional AMG waterfall mesh side netting.

One can also observe an extended roofline and distinctive three-pointed star accents placed around rear lower diffuser that gives a more standardized feel compared to its predecessor. Additionally, new LED fog-lights and what appears to be custom front turn indicators are observed as part of a lower-profile nose and widened shoulder paneling that should provide better weight stability at speed.

Rearview design is perhaps the most interesting feature since Mercedes incorporated a mini wingslip device resembling those used by Gini - these appear likely intended for performance optimization. There is an evident anticipation from fans that Mercedes will introduce a more aggressive diffuser when it officially launches this production model, so take away nothing said here at face value.

Mercedes-AMG has announced the future electric models of their GT lineup would be equipped with YASA motors powered by electricity. These are light and compact yet still manage to produce 480 horsepower in base unit but the new, heavy-weight is estimated because Mercedes wants a high top-performance output. According to what we know so far - with only one heavy motor unit (possibly rear-wheel), it promises an astonishing 1000hp at maximum speed with up to 1000 Newton meters of torque.
